At AGCP, we are lucky to work with a variety of folks from diverse backgrounds who bring unique skill sets to our office. This month, we sat down with Erin Saville to learn more about her work and passions outside of the office.
How long have you been with AGCP?
This month marks my three-year anniversary with AGCP! It’s been incredible to watch AGCP grow and develop so quickly over the past couple of years.
What is your background in?
I studied Criminal Law at Seattle University. I started my career working as a paralegal but learned that the legal field didn’t suit me in the long term. Luckily, I met an AGCP employee one summer who noticed that there was a lot of overlap with her project and being a paralegal. She encouraged me to apply to the availability on her team. I was quickly hired on and have been here ever since!
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned working for AGCP?
Always be open to constructive criticism. While it can be hard to hear in the moment, it provides you with an opportunity to grow.
How do you incorporate a strong work-life balance?
I set specific working hours for myself which allows for time in the evening to relax or engage in activities outside of work. I find that sticking to a work schedule during the week promotes more productivity and encourages me to focus on what’s important at the time. I’m also a huge proponent of taking a long vacation at least once a year. It allows you time to disconnect from work and then tackle problems from new light upon return.
What are your hidden talents?
Horseback riding. I also love trivia, although, I wouldn’t say I’m always “talented” at it per se.
What books, articles, or podcasts are you consuming right now?
I’m currently reading Girl Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis. It’s a motivating book that illustrates how to live with passion and hustle—and how to give yourself grace without giving up. As for podcasts, I really enjoy The Feel Good Podcast with Kimberly Snyder which has short wellness tips and discussions and The School of Greatness with Lewis Howes.
