We’re honored to showcase our team’s diversity, talents, and interests at AG Consulting Partners.
This month, learn more about our Principal Consultant, Aaron Xavier, and his experience working within a customer advocacy team for one of our global technology clients. Aaron pulled a 180-degree turn in his career early on and has dreams of an ambitious road trip and scuba experience in the future!
What’s your background, where did you grow up, and what did you enjoy doing?
I grew up in Bonney Lake and was active in various sports and performing arts, especially music. I left Washington to attend the University of Oregon, where I received a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies. The degree featured a few years of classical performance followed by two years of focused studies. I opted for a jazz focus that included an arrangement for big bands and horn sections. Learning how to layer multiple brass sections and understand orchestration from a composition perspective was a unique experience.
Following Oregon, I relocated to San Fransico as a professional musician. While music was my passion, I didn’t need it to be my full-time job, so I joined an online marketing agency as a client services advisor. I worked with clients such as Adobe, Facebook, and Change.org, which eventually led to a product management position oriented around revenue and user growth. After switching careers and continuing music on the side, I’ve recorded five albums, picked up DJing, and had some of the most rewarding musical experiences of my life!
Nowadays, I’m back home in Washington and happy to be near family and friends again and here at AGCP!
What makes AGCP unique for you? Why do you like working here?
One of the reasons I love AGCP is that my current project allows me to use every aspect of my background in technology. This ranges from data analysis and modeling to product planning, design, and development. AGCP also provides a diverse range of client opportunities as a consultant. These often bring about fun problems to solve with clients and colleagues alike, which is an environment I thrive in and enjoy.
I also enjoy constantly learning new things and sharing those learnings in a team environment, something AGCP facilitates well. Recently, we’ve been doing a brown bag series to promote Power Platform functionality which has been both a great learning experience and an entertaining time with everyone. Overall, I get to wear many hats, and I feel like I have an excellent work-life balance which is essential for me.
Can you tell me about your current consulting project?
I work as a consultant for one of our global technology clients within a customer advocacy team. While I’ve been described as an overall “resident tech guy,” I assist mainly with building applications for sales and marketing divisions to better display critical data and information that will impact strategic project and pipeline decisions. Essentially, this means designing and implementing user interfaces that identify ways to capture, filter, and surface information. This allows our clients to make better decisions about their business needs and get into what is working and what is not from a customer evidence point of view.
If you could go on a road trip with anyone, who would it be with, and where would you go?
This is an easy answer because my girlfriend and I already have a fun sports car and take little road trips here and there! Some of my favorite locations thus far have been New Zealand and Cuba; with New Zealand, you could definitely take two to three weeks and plan a trip from the North Island down to the South Island – the landscape is incredibly diverse and beautiful. Similarly, you could traverse Cuba; the people were incredible, as were the art and architecture, music, and culture.
That all being said, my ultimate road trip would be renting a higher-end sports car with my girlfriend. We would start in Trondheim, Norway, drive down the coast to Bergen, take a ferry across to mainland Europe, head down to Amsterdam, then France, wind our way through the Alps, and end the trip down in the South of Italy. We’re planning to head to France later this year, so we’ll at least get a small taste of this journey!
Do you have any bucket list items you’re looking forward to crossing off?
I’ve been scuba diving for a while now, but I’ve always wanted to be able to see a whale shark while doing so, so that would have to be something I’d like to check off the list during my life. There are some targeted expeditions, so I may have to check those out.
Thank you, Aaron, for your hard work and continued dedication to AGCP. If you’re interested in joining our team of amazing consultants, we’d love to chat! To learn more about our openings at the firm right now, click here. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
