Brittany Schulte, Consultant
We’re honored to showcase the diversity, talents, and interests of our team at AG Consulting Partners.
This month, learn more about our Consultant, Brittany Schulte, and her experience working as a business manager for one of our clients, as well as her travel goals and most recommended national park!
What’s your background, where did you grow up and what did you enjoy doing?
I am originally from a small town in the Sierra Nevada foothills of California where I grew up running around barefoot and spending my summers at the lake. I played sports throughout grade school, eventually went on to play volleyball in college, and received my B.A. from California State University, Sacramento. During my time in California, I interned with the State Capitol in the Chief Clerk’s Office and worked as a Communications Consultant with the California State Assembly for three years before moving to Washington and joining AGCP.
What makes AGCP special for you, why do you like working here?
It has been such a positive experience working at AGCP so far and what I love most about working for AGCP is the opportunity for growth and the way they invest in their employees. Since joining the firm last year, the company itself has grown dramatically, and I feel like my colleagues and I have been able to grow alongside it, especially within the Management Consultant (MC) track that is offered to employees who want to help shape and sustain the company’s direction.
The MC track has allowed me to continue providing excellent work to my client while collaborating on internal operations, business development, and mentoring fellow employees. It’s an exciting time to be working for AGCP, especially when you get to experience the rapid growth in your career concurrently!
Can you tell me about your current consulting project?
My current consulting project is based around supporting a global technology firm in the rhythm of business operations. Specifically, I support the General Manager with business management work which involves creating and maintaining the team’s budget, assisting with onboarding new employees, managing calendars, organizing meetings, acting as a liaison between the manager and his direct reports, and performing other necessary tasks as they come up. I also support additional ad hoc projects and programs directed by members of the General Manager’s team. My work has been critical to the creation of collaboration sites, designing playbooks, planning offsites, and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders.
If you could go on a road trip with anyone, who would it be with and where would you go?
When it comes to road trips, I’ve done plenty of cross-country trips, taking various routes to see different scenery and visit different cities. During my college years, for instance, I drove back and forth between California and North Carolina four times! Some of those trips were rapid (my record is 48 hours!), but during others, I took the time to stop in states including Utah, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Texas and experience the country along the way which provided some unique experiences like eating the best BBQ in Memphis. One of my favorite places has been Zion National Park and specifically, the hike to Angels Landing; the views were stunning!
Sadly, my grandma passed away last year but I would have loved to take her on a road trip to the Grand Canyon. She had this amazing ability to look at various trees and flora as we drove by and know what type of crop they produced. Overall, she was just incredibly knowledgeable, and it would have been great to spend that quality time with her.
Do you have any bucket list items you’re looking forward to crossing off?
I have a scratch-off poster of every US National Park and my boyfriend and I are slowly making our way to each of them! Specifically, I’m really looking forward to visiting some parks in Alaska in the future.
