AGCP creates a data library to shine a light on valuable sales stories


The Problem 

A global technology company noticed several departments interested in leveraging their key sales success stories for training, developing marketing strategies, and analytics. Unfortunately, these stories were sent out via email, which meant they were getting lost in inboxes and not being saved in a central location. These stories also had no template or standard. Each story contained valuable but variable bits of information that were useful for different audiences. Our client needed to save the stories in a central location, standardize them, and ensure they were easily accessible via a search function. 

The Approach 

The AG Consulting Partners team set out to build a database with logging and a searchable tagging system. Diving into the project headfirst, we conducted a research phase, collecting all available stories and getting in touch with different departments to understand the nuances of how each one uses these stories. Once we determined the necessary filterable fields and which labels would be most applicable for tagging, a standardized process was established for entering and searching for stories. Using Power Apps and Dataverse, we built the database, entered and tagged all existing stories, and created a search tool so individuals could find, filter, and download the stories based on their specific needs. 

To set up our client for long-term success, we designed and built a system that functioned as an intake form to automate entering the story into the database and automatically send out an email communication sharing the new story.
